Anzac Day Brekkie.....

was pancakes.....I tried this new recipe, because Tori said that my usual recipe wasn't very exciting....and McDonald's ones were better :)

Worth trying, they are nice.....I will make these ones all the time now.....
Here is the recipe....
190 g all-purpose flour
10 g baking powder
6 g salt
10 g white sugar
295 ml milk
1 egg
45 g butter, melted

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.
The recipe was from www.allrecipes.com , and I followed a couple of users suggestions by lowering the salt and adding a little vanilla essence. Nice....oh, and I also just used SR flour instead of the plain and baking powder.
I feel a day of cooking coming on :)

My new shed....

is a roller door on the carport :)

Someone at work brought in a couple of roller doors that a neighbour was throwing out. He thought that they were to good to go to the tip! My thinking exactly!!

Unfortunately the height above my carport arch to the ceiling is really small, and a proper carport just wouldn't fit, so Jon the carpenter at work cut the top off one of the carports. He sent me home with a hammer drill and instructions to fit it.

Brody had a couple of mates over on Good Friday, and 1/2 an hour later....presto.....

And on the other side of the door.....

I have put a cupboard up at the side there, and a large plant on the front side. I will try and get a proper gate so that I can go in and out, but so it can be locked.
Anyway, things slowly getting organised :)

The plumber.....

came back this morning. Fixed the leak, I think it was the new tap he connected. It was the boss that came today! Fixed the dishwasher to the side cabinets, as it was leaning a little forward when the top tray was open. But......I had to ring him this afternoon, as I realised that the hot is cold and the cold is hot!!! So he will be back to fix that!

While he was here, I rang the electrician because since he had been last week I couldn't get the oven to work!!! Am I jinxed or what???

Anyway the plumber helped with the oven fuse, and bits and pieces, he even offered to check anything else for the electrician, save him making a visit. Then the plumber notices a flash on the timer thing on the front of the oven, and says that the oven won't work if it is flashing! Who knew?? Note to self: whenever the power goes out, change the clock on the oven, otherwise it won't work!!!

Here's some photos of the tiling:

First the rendering....

Then a couple of days later, the tiling.....

Now, the painting....I've got one quote for $2300, but still have 2 painters coming. Have decided to get someone to paint the lounge, passage, dining, kitchen and family room, and I will do the back end rooms. That way I will really feel like I have got somewhere :) Was really hoping for around $1600, might have to rethink it if I can't get one that cheap.

Be good :)

One step forward.....two steps backward.....

The electrician and plumber came in next. Plumber connected the dishwasher and the tap.

All looked good for 24 hours. Then.....loaded up the dishwasher and it wouldn't go! and the end of the tap fell off .....

Went back to Ikea, and that tap is now deleted and none in stock. Had to pick another out.

Tiler came over (I was 5 tiles short and had to go and buy more.....and the glue the tile shop sold me wasn't good enough....it never ends does it?) Thought I had a photo of the tiling done, but don't, will load that over the weekend.

Then the electrician and plumber came back yesterday. Electrician fixed the front door light and connected all of the power points and the slideout rangehood. The plumber 'fixed' the dishwasher and connected the new tap. He didn't have the correct size tap spanner, and I had to run down to the hardware and buy one! There was no way I was letting him go without it getting connected. He had suggested that I go back to Ikea and pick out a different tap!! My dishwasher still had the first load of dishes sitting in it, he pressed start and left. 10 mins later I notice water on the floor coming out from under the sink cupboard next to the dishwasher!!! Rang the plumber, who told me to turn it all off and he will come out on Monday morn to have a look. Holy Shit, does it never end????? Don't know if it is coming from the tap connection or the dishwasher connection, so can't use either one now until he looks at it.

Enough of the bad stuff......did a bake up once the oven was installed.... jam drops.....carrot and date muffins.....ginger nuts.

Mum, enjoy your visitors :)
